Chabely & Eugenio Cruz Wedding

Chabely & Eugenio Cruz Wedding

This summer I took some wedding photos for my friend Chabely and her husband Eugenio, and kinda… sorta…. forgot to give them to them! I usually pride myself on giving my clients their photos on the same day, or the day after, so I realize I am totally incriminating myself with this post, but it was a unique situation where I got insanely busy and it slipped my mind, and she was too sweet and polite to ask for them! Anyway, she asked me for them this week… which was perfect, because I got some beautiful new photoshop actions, so even though these aren’t recent pics, they are recent edits, that I thought would be fun to {finally} share!

Mel & Joe’s Wedding in Greece

Mel & Joe’s Wedding in Greece

Last week my little sister, Mel, got married to her husband, Joe, in the beautiful Greek island of Skiathos. A few months ago she asked if I would like to be her wedding photographer, but then changed her mind, and asked if I would like to be her bridesmaid instead — which I was super excited about! She then booked a photographer on the island who wanted to charge 800 euros for 40 prints, one location, and no digital copies or copyright, so she cancelled him at last minute and asked if I wouldn’t mind being her photographer after all, alongside our other family photographers!

Janet and Nick’s Wedding Day

Janet and Nick’s Wedding Day

About a month ago I covered my first ever wedding all by myself. Janet and Nick took the pressure off of me a LOT by wanting a photoshoot done before the day of the wedding, so we already had a lot of the shots we needed. I didn’t know just how great of an idea this really was, until the day of the wedding when it was freezing cold, and started raining. (We got done just in time for the rain to start, so it couldn’t have worked out more perfectly!) I absolutely loved everything about Janets wedding… her dress, the colors she chose, her sweet little bridesmaids (her mum made all of their skirts!) Every detail was just so elegant and beautiful, that if I was getting married today, I would probably have chosen the exact same theme and dress that she did!

Janet & Nick Wedding Photoshoot

Janet & Nick Wedding Photoshoot

About a month or so ago Janet asked me if I would do a wedding photoshoot for her and Nick before the actual day of their wedding. I LOVED this idea because it meant absolutely NO pressure… and considering this was only my second ever wedding (and the very first one I have covered all by myself) that’s exactly what I needed. I got to choose the time of day and have some control over the lighting, and we also had a little control over the weather too, but mostly I liked that we had time to concentrate on the bride and groom without all the other guests hurrying around and the pressure of time.

Georgie & Camas Columbia River Temple Wedding

Georgie & Camas Columbia River Temple Wedding

Last week I did my first ever wedding photo shoot! In the past i’ve had a couple of people ask me if I would take pictures at their wedding, but i’ve had to say no, because I didn’t feel I was good enough. There’s just so much pressure to get them perfect and absolutely no room for error. It’s not as if I could go back and re-do them if the bride hated them or they turned out wrong, and just to make it extra intimidating, it’s often mid-day sun, which is the WORST lighting to shoot in, and BIG groups of people to arrange. Yikes!
