Melissa & Andy’s Family Photoshoot

Melissa & Andy’s Family Photoshoot

This weekend I had the opportunity to take some photos for a gorgeous little family from tricities that are friends with my husband’s cousin. There’s something really fun about taking pictures of a young family, not only because they’re an attractive couple with super cute kiddos, but because I have a young family myself so I feel I can get on their level really easily. They have a boy and a girl like I do around the same age, so I understand that their attention span is going to be short, and they’re not just going to sit still, smile and say cheese for the camera! What I wanted to do was just capture this little family having fun and being themselves, and I was fortunate enough to capture some REALLY sweet moments, making these some of the best photos I think i’ve ever taken. Melissa and I had a really hard time sitting down and selecting the best ones for editing–but here are just a few of my favorites:

My sister in law just had a new baby, and she is perfect in every single way! I’m not just saying this as a biased aunty… she really IS! She kind of made me want to have another baby myself… but then I realized I didn’t need to, because I can just cuddle this one!

Jenae’s Senior Photoshoot

This weekend I had the opportunity to take Jenae’s senior photos–and not only was it one of the most fun photoshoots i’ve ever been on, but the pictures turned out to be some of the best i’ve ever taken! Her Mum came along and acted as the PERFECT assistant! She scoped out cool places here in Mattawa, and brought along some really fun props to use, so I didn’t really have to plan or think about anything! Jenae was absolutely drop dead gorgeous too! A thin, blonde, all American beauty… with big green eyes and a really cute wardrobe! I mean, how could these pictures not turn out cute? Here are some of my favorite shots. We got a lot of locations and wardrobe changes squeezed in to what little time we had, because her mother is a little on the A.d.d side like me! (I LOVED working with her!) Here are some of my favorite shots, there were SO Many it was really hard to choose!

Georgie & Camas Columbia River Temple Wedding

Last week I did my first ever wedding photo shoot! In the past i’ve had a couple of people ask me if I would take pictures at their wedding, but i’ve had to say no, because I didn’t feel I was good enough. There’s just so much pressure to get them perfect and absolutely no room for error. It’s not as if I could go back and re-do them if the bride hated them or they turned out wrong, and just to make it extra intimidating, it’s often mid-day sun, which is the WORST lighting to shoot in, and BIG groups of people to arrange. Yikes!

Last week before I left for Hong Kong, I somehow managed to squeeze in two photoshoots–my first big-group family shoot the night before, and my first ever wedding, the day we left! It was a crazy time. Actually, my whole life is just crazy lately, but I can’t complain because I bring it completely upon myself! (I have to stay busy out here in the middle of nowhere, or I go nuts!)
