Betsy & David Kemp Family Photoshoot

Betsy & David Kemp Family Photoshoot

A little while ago Betsy asked if I would take her family photos and we must have re-scheduled at least five or six times before we were finally able to take them because the CRAZY Mattawa wind would just not die-down! Finally we got our perfect evening, and I think it was well worth the wait, because the lighting was gorgeous and the photo-shoot was so much fun! I LOVE the outfits she chose to dress her sweet little family in — those are my kind of colors, so I would have dressed my family in the exact same way. Her sweet little kiddos, Ella, Tanner and baby sophie were SO well behaved, and they brought along “Grandma” to make them smile and laugh behind the camera (which was SO helpful!) At one point we took a wrong turn and ended up hiking up a really steep part of the canyon, and instead of complaining, the kids kept saying: “this is awesome Sarah. This is awesome Sarah!” They came from tricities where they live, and were just having SO much fun exploring the “country” and I think that showed through in the photos. They picked me about 20 flowers, which was SUPER sweet (and hard to hold whilst taking photos!) Haha. The kids were adorable, David was SO kind and patient, and betsy was just beautiful and super sweet… so yet again, I just feel as if I lucked out with dream clients! Here are some of my favorite photos from their shoot:  More

Anna Hernandez Senior Pics

Anna Hernandez Senior Pics

Last summer I had the opportunity to take photos for Jr. Miss at Mattawa High School which Anna was participating in — then this year she asked if I would take her senior pics, which of course I jumped at the chance to do because she’s such a sweetie!

Damon, Jessica & Daxtin’s Photoshoot

My brother in law Damon is off to Idaho next week to start a new college and a new life down in Idaho — and i’m really going to miss him and his sweet little family! :-( My sister in law Jessica asked if I would take some family photos for them before they left, so she would have something to decorate her new place with, and I happily agreed, not only because I love them and they’re family, but because she has been SO helpful to me, so this was the least I could do!

My Portraits

My Portraits

This weekend my friend Misty and I went out on a little photoshoot to take some professional portraits for each other. Misty is such a talented photographer and did such a great job, I thought i’d share some of the portrait photos she did for me–even though I feel kind of ridiculous being the “subject!” I had a lot of fun editing them in radlab. I know some photographers out there look down on editing–because they believe a perfect picture should come right out of the camera– but for me, transforming a photograph and making it beautiful and artistic is just as fun as the photography itself. It was also kind of fun editing photos for myself, because I know what I like! Haha. Sometimes it’s guess work knowing if the client will like bright colors, black and whites, sepias and antique tones or vintage– but for me I like a little mixture. Now i’m going to have a really hard time selecting just one of these as my MM profile pic, and choosing one for my new photography site… so if any of you have suggestions, they’d be more than welcome! Thanks again Misty for taking these, you are a pro, and it was so much fun!

Misty’s Photographer Portraits

Misty’s Photographer Portraits

This saturday I was all dressed up with no where to go, and nothing to do–so I decided to call my friend Misty to see if she wanted to go on a photo-shoot with me. In the next few months I want to put together a photography site, with the help of my web-designing hubby, so I kinda needed some decent portrait photos. This idea was SO out of the blue and last minute, but it was perfect because not only did we both need portrait photos for our photography sites, but we had an absolute BLAST taking them!
