Gemma’s 2nd Yo Gabba Gabba Birthday Party

Gemma’s 2nd Yo Gabba Gabba Birthday Party

This weekend was my little girls 2nd birthday! I have been planning her party for the last couple of weeks with the help of her big brother, Braden. He told me: “Gemma would like a princess Rapunzel party with pink balloons and a princess cake.” It’s so sweet how well he knows her, and how thoughtful he was too… but she was adamant that she got a Yo Gabba Gabba party instead. I even tried to talk her out of it, because my sons first birthday party was Yo Gabba Gabba themed too!!

My sister in law is due to have her first baby next month, so last night we threw her a jungle themed shower for her baby BOY! I was in charge of cupcakes, but since i’ve had such a crazy week, I thought i’d keep them SUPER simple!

Oatmeal Container Hairband Organizer

Oatmeal Container Hairband Organizer

This week I made it my mission to completely organize and decorate my daughter’s room–and one thing she was really in need of, was a way to organize all of her hairbands and hair slides that took up an entire drawer in her dresser! I was kind of sick of rummaging every day when I did her hair–yet, I was kind of lost for a good solution–so of course, I turned to pinterest!! Is there any other place that’s better for creative ideas like this? Someone had come up with the ingenious idea of turning a cylindrical oatmeal container into a hairband organizer–not only is it the perfect size and shape to hold hair slides, but it’s hollow, so you can put all those smaller hair clips inside! GENIUS! This is definitely my kind of craft. CUTE, inexpensive (it took $2 to make!!) And it was so quick & easy…. 10 minutes start to finish. So if you’re looking for a way to organize hair slides too–this seriously is the perfect way to do it!!

Cute Easter Burlap Wreath

A little while ago I saw the cutest Easter Burlap wreath on pinterest, and decided I wanted to have a go at making one too. It looked really simple and fun–and since i’m in the process of re-designing my Blog right now in my evenings–that’s exactly what I needed! I haven’t decorated a whole lot for Easter, but I can handle a quick, easy & cute easter craft!

Cute Photo Door Plaques

Cute Photo Door Plaques

Last night I invented my VERY OWN CRAFT! This is big for me, because I usually only ever copy, or re-work something that somebody has already created. I got the idea from a tutorial I found on how to transfer photos to wood, and thought: ‘I am going to make little plaques for my babies doors!’ I went to Hobby Lobby in search of a 5X7 piece of wood that was the same size as a standard photo print, but all they had were 5×8′s so I just went with it, and then I realized- that was FAR better anyway, because it gave me space underneath to write their names and add some colour with some cute paper.
