Minecraft Party with Free Printables

Minecraft Party with Free Printables

A couple of days ago my little guy turned SIX, and asked to have his birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese…. for the THIRD year in a row! I was O.K. with that, since it’s so much less work than hosting a house-party, and all I had to do was make a cake, send out some invites, and create some goody bags! As a huge perfectionist, I knew those three things would be enough to keep me busy for a while! Braden wanted to invite 12 friends– so I knew if I didn’t keep costs low for each goody bag, it would add up really fast, so I pretty much got everything from the dollar store, besides the candy, which I got from Winco. I searched online, and of course pinterest, for some free minecraft printables, and couldn’t really find much, so my amazingly talented graphic-designing husband whipped these up for me, and they turned out SO cute, I was really excited to share them with you! We were up past midnight creating, printing, cutting and gluing these– after a long day of cake making, so from one parent to another– I hope these free printables will save you a lot of work, time and stress!

Peg Doll Christmas Nativities

Peg Doll Christmas Nativities

I know I have a pretty sad excuse for a crafting section on my Blog– I rarely have time to craft these days– but there’s something about Christmas that always inspires me to make things, especially for others. I found this idea for a hand-painted nativity set on pinterest and loved it, and knew my family would too! I thought it was a great idea to send them something special, and hand-made…. until I started to paint SEVEN SETS! That’s 7 Mary’s, 7 Joseph’s, 7 Shepherd’s, 7 Angels, 21 wise men, 21 camels, 21 Sheep, and 7 “donkeys” that don’t really look like Donkeys! {I had to let my perfectionisms go if I was ever going to get this project completed!} My family better feel the love, because I worked on these through tiresome nights, a bad case of Laryngitis, and just general chaos of the busy Christmas season. You know how it is!

Cheap D.I.Y Easter Table

Cheap D.I.Y Easter Table

This week I planned to buy a really cute centerpiece and some pretty pastel plates and chargers for my Easter table, but I ran out of time to go to all the stores I needed to, and just decided to get a little creative with some things I already had at home. I have mentioned in my last few posts that I have been redecorating and re-purposing a lot this week, so I pulled some vases, flowers and candlesticks from my office, and put out some chicks and eggs I had from last year to decorate my Easter table. I thought I would post a few ideas in case anyone else out there wants to decorate a cute Easter table in a super inexpensive, SUPER simple way this year.

D.I.Y Easter Napkins

D.I.Y Easter Napkins

The other day my amazing husband brought me a new silhouette cameo as a late English mothers day/early American mothers day present! I am absolutely in love with this new machine… it cuts and prints everything, so there’s just endless possibilities of things you can make with it. I decided to start off with a really small, simple project: D.I.Y Easter Napkins. I didn’t want to buy tons of fabric paint, so I did a little research and found out that if you combine fabric medium with acrylic paint, and iron it, the heat will seal it and make it permanent! I was so excited about this, because I have TONS of paint! So all I needed to buy were some plain white napkins and the fabric medium and I was good to go! I printed some silhouette bunny shapes on vinyl, stuck them onto the white t-towel, mixed up the paint and fabric medium, then just sponged the paint on top!

D.I.Y Christmas Trees

D.I.Y Christmas Trees

The other day I saw a post on pinterest on how to turn old cereal boxes into some cute christmas decor, and was all over it! This is such a fabulous idea! You make cone shapes out of the card and decorate them to look like christmas trees. I was kind of bored of my centerpiece from last year, so I thought I would make a little arrangement for the runner on my dining room table. I asked a few of my friends here in Mattawa if they wanted to get together for a craft night, and realized we hadn’t done one since valentines day, so it was long over-due! We had so much fun decorating, chatting, eating cookies… burning ourselves with hot glue guns! For the most part, these were super quick and simple to make, so I thought i’d share a few ideas in case you’d like to make some too.
