Family Photos 2013

Around this time of year, every year, I have made it a tradition to do family photos: even though my husband complains, and it’s hard to find outfits, and the kids don’t want to sit and smile at a camera for long, and there is SO much going on! I think it’s important to capture the ever-changing dynamic of my cute little family, which we hope will continue to grow and change through the years. This year I was going to skip them because it really was SO hard finding the time, and I didn’t feel as if our family dynamic had changed all that much from last fall, but i’m so glad we decided to do them! Braden and Gemma have changed a lot since last year, and really do look a lot older. Plus, it’s always good to have up-to-date photos to decorate with, post as profiles online, and use to make christmas cards and send to family.

I asked my friend, Gigi if she wouldn’t mind taking a few photos with my camera, so I could edit them myself. She took our family photos last year, and did a fantastic job, and has such a natural eye for photography and angles! She brought candy to bribe the kids with, and it totally worked! This was the first time they have been old enough to be bribed to sit still and smile for the camera… making this the easiest, quickest photo shoot we have ever had! We went to the S curves here in Mattawa, and there was so much beauty and diversity at every turn! We have had unusually great weather for this time of year, and couldn’t have picked a more perfect, warm, October evening to have got these done! Here are a few of my favorite pics from our quick, fun, little shoot this year:
