Bombay House Chicken Tikka Masala PIZZA!
18 Dec 2012
Tonight I made one of the BEST things I have ever eaten in my life. You know, the kind of dish where you roll your eyes and um and ah, and go back for way more servings than you probably should!? This is one of those rare, beautifully perfect recipes, that I absolutely couldn’t wait to share! I already LOVE Bombay House’s Chicken Tikka Masala, but on a pizza–I think it brings it to a whole new level. The pizza base is like serving it with warm naan bread, and topped with all that melted mozzarella cheese, just makes it EXTRA amazing! So I hope you all love this recipe as much as I do, because i’m pretty darn excited about it!
Ingredients:
1 pizza base
1/2 red onion
1 bunch of cilantro
mozzarella cheese
1 1/2 Lbs chicken breast
(Marinade)
1 cup plain yoghurt
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp cumin
2 tsp red pepper
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground ginger
(sauce)
1 Tbsp unsalted butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
1-2 jalapeños
2 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp salt
1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
1 c heavy whipping cream
Directions:
Cut the chicken into bite sized pieces and place in a ziploc bag with the marinade ingredients: {yoghurt, lemon juice, cumin, red pepper, black pepper, cinnamon, salt & ginger}. Marinade from 2-12 hours.
Cook the chicken in a pan over medium high heat for about 5 minutes either side, until no longer pink in the center.
Dice 1 jalapeño for the sauce, and slice the other one for a pizza topping (optional).
Melt the butter over medium heat. Add garlic and jalapeño and cook for 1 minute.
Add the coriander, cumin, paprika, garam masala and salt. Stir to combine
Stir in the tomato sauce and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir in the cream. Spread half of the sauce on the pizza base.
Top with the cooked chicken tikka
Add the slices of jalapeño (optional– I put them on my husband’s half, but not mine!) :-/
Spread the remaining masala sauce on top.
Cover with mozzarella cheese
Bake at 425degF for 8-10 minutes (or according to pizza base directions). If you make a pizza base from scratch, cooking times may vary.
Have I mentioned how much I LOVE this recipe? Not only is it one of the best things I have ever posted, but probably my new favorite pizza of all time!
As usual, please let me know what you think, and ENJOY! (Seriously, there’s no way you won’t!)

Oh my. I make your tikka masala recipe weekly (yes- weekly, I kid you not. I make it every Sunday).. it it, HANDS DOWN, the best thing I make. My husband and I go crazy for it. We are big Indian food lovers, and this is the most authentic I’ve had. We haven’t been to a restaurant for Indian since! The first few times were labor intensive, but now I can do it with my eyes closed. I just about fainted when I decided to scroll through your blog to see what else I could find…. and see THIS! A tikka masala pizza! I will be making this next day, I’m strangely excited.

I LOVE that you make this recipe every week!! And I love that you’re going to try my CTM pizza because I am CRAZY about that recipe… and no one else has seemed to have discovered it yet! Please let me know how you like it, and thanks so much for your sweet comment Erika!

I forgot to come back- but I made it! I made it awhile ago and LOVED it. I remembered to come back here because I’m making it again tonight
Have the chicken marinating! I actually use a whole wheat Boboli pizza for my base. My only change is not adding the onions or cilantro, I’m not a fan of either. Otherwise, I follow the recipe. (I LOVE the sliced jalapenos on it!!). And I STILL make your tikka masala on a weekly basis. I tried to skip it a few times, and my husband crabs

Haha! That makes me laugh! I make chicken tikka masala on a very regular basis too, to let the hubby know how much I love him!
If you make a big batch, you can save half for a pizza the next night!! I’m so glad you love this pizza. A lot of people think it’s “wild” and crazy, but I think it’s the best pizza going! So it makes me happy you were brave enough to try it, and awesome enough to love it!

I love this pizza. this will be my fourth time making it. i made four in one day for a festival party and the guest ate it for breakfast the next day and lunch. it was such a hit.
I add pine nuts for a little decadence and also mushrooms * just a few.
I have to say it is bar none the best pizza going.
thank you

Made this for the husband who loves middle eastern food of all varieties. Although not traditionally of fan of the same, I really enjoyed this recipe! One change we will make next time though is the amount of pepper in the marinade….just too much for us both. I would halve the suggested the amounts.
