Bombay House Chicken Tikka Masala PIZZA!

Bombay House Chicken Tikka Masala PIZZA!

Tonight I made one of the BEST things I have ever eaten in my life. You know, the kind of dish where you roll your eyes and um and ah, and go back for way more servings than you probably should!? This is one of those rare, beautifully perfect recipes, that I absolutely couldn’t wait to share! I already LOVE Bombay House’s Chicken Tikka Masala, but on a pizza–I think it brings it to a whole new level. The pizza base is like serving it with warm naan bread, and topped with all that melted mozzarella cheese, just makes it EXTRA amazing! So I hope you all love this recipe as much as I do, because i’m pretty darn excited about it!

D.I.Y Christmas Trees

D.I.Y Christmas Trees

The other day I saw a post on pinterest on how to turn old cereal boxes into some cute christmas decor, and was all over it! This is such a fabulous idea! You make cone shapes out of the card and decorate them to look like christmas trees. I was kind of bored of my centerpiece from last year, so I thought I would make a little arrangement for the runner on my dining room table. I asked a few of my friends here in Mattawa if they wanted to get together for a craft night, and realized we hadn’t done one since valentines day, so it was long over-due! We had so much fun decorating, chatting, eating cookies… burning ourselves with hot glue guns! For the most part, these were super quick and simple to make, so I thought i’d share a few ideas in case you’d like to make some too.

Svickova na smetane {Beef Sirloin with Cream Sauce}

Svickova na smetane {Beef Sirloin with Cream Sauce}

The other day I was looking for a delicious beef tenderloin recipe, and came across Svikova, which is the national dish of the Czech Republic. It sounded a little strange, but it looked so familiar to me, and then I realized I had tried Svickova before. Years ago my older brother lived in Prague for a couple of years (serving as a missionary for my church), so my family went to visit him and he took us to get some Svikova and dumplings. The best part about going to visit someone who knows the area well, is that you get to see and eat all the best things! Prague is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen! I don’t remember the Svikova all that well… but I just remembered that I loved it! So I thought I would give this recipe a try {and make my older brother extremely jealous!} ;-)

Brie Stuffed Pears

Brie Stuffed Pears

One of my husband’s all time favorite things is Bris so I thought i’d whip him up these bris stuffed pears for lunch the other day (and by the other day I mean this time last week, because I am really behind… again! :-/ Which may account for some “mass posting today.”) I was feeling kind of bold and daring and thought i’d see how they tasted with prosciutto and I found out–NOT very good at ALL! I almost didn’t post this recipe because of that, but the bris stuffed pears themselves were SO spot on and delicious, I couldn’t resist. I mean, who could resist honey brushed pears filled with melted bris cheese, topped with caramelized hazelnuts? These are SO yummy!

My Favourite Rice Pudding Recipe

My Favourite Rice Pudding Recipe

I came across this recipe the other day completely by accident. I had a lot of left over rice I needed to use, so I wanted to find an AWESOME rice pudding recipe for a cold December evening… one that was SO delicious my picky little two year old would even want to eat it, and I lucked out by finding the BEST rice pudding recipe ever, right off the bat. Speaking of lucky… I just went to a christmas party tonight and won $100 visa card! It was at an ugly sweater party with the craziest white elephant gifts you have ever seen! My brother in law got a nacho libre mask, my friend got a new pet FISH! My husband got a moustache baking pan… which I will have to put to good use! And I got 15 scratch cards… which I won $3 from. Maybe the lucky streak didn’t continue there! But I had an absolute blast.
