D.I.Y Valentines Decor

I have been busy decorating for valentines day [during baby nap times] over the past couple of days, and thought i’d share a couple of projects I have been working on. I spent a grand total of $7 on decorations this year, because I couldn’t find anything I liked- and just decided to make stuff instead! I had a few supplies left over from last year. Everything was super cheap, quick & easy to make. That’s my style of decorating these days as a busy Mum! [A busy Mum who had a valentines baby, and therefore, a party to plan!]

I found this fabric at hobby lobby, and had some hemming tape lying around….

So I cut the fabric to the width I liked on my dining table, and hemmed it using my iron and the tape [I can't sew to save my life] so this was a quick and simple solution! It worked okay! My sister in law Megan gave me these flowers, and they match the runner perfectly- so I just used them for a centerpiece
I also made a valentines themed photo frame. I printed off a 4×6 of my little girls first valentines day [this time last year]. I already had the paper, and I brought the wooden frame from craft warehouse for about $2.I traced the frame on plain pink paper, cut it and stuck it, then embellished itI made this plaque last year by painting the wooden board pink, and using the cricut to cut the vinyl letters…
Then this year I was too lazy to make the lettering, so I brought a cute saying at Craft Warehouse (for $5). I was going to make a cute canvas with it, but then decided it looked better on the wall. I framed a couple of engagement and wedding photos, and hung them either side….
I used a stamp to put a cute message on the matting of a smaller framed photo and decorated some ‘love’ letters using the same paper as the frame… P.S. I didn’t do this intentionally, but on the L it says: ‘Love’…On the V it says ‘Valentines’ and on the E it says ’4Ever.’ I’m so unintentionally awesome. But not really because I couldn’t think of anything for the O!? This was the one thing I didn’t make, but I thought i’d post it since it was cute. I love Hobby Lobby!! I know i’m pretty late for posting this a week before valentines day [and because all the Easter stuff has been out in the stores tripping me out, making me feel like it's spring time already and that I have missed valentines day completely] but maybe there’s someone out there who’s as last minute as me, that might get some inspiration from this?! Until then, happy crafting! And happy Valentines day/Easter!

Love, Sarah
