Gordon Ramsay’s Shephard’s Pie

Gordon Ramsay’s Shephard’s Pie

When I was first married, I made my husband a really traditional, British Shepherd’s pie, and I remember his response to it like it was yesterday. He simply said: “Thanks. But please, don’t ever make that again!” I mean, here I am SO excited to share a part of my culture with him in making the food that I grew up eating- and was feeling so chuffed with myself at making my first ever Shepherd’s pie, and he threw it in my face. I don’t remember what I said or did that day, but I’m pretty sure it involved me wiping it off to reveal my laser beam eyes!!

Baby Liams Pictures

Baby Liams Pictures

My really good friend Heather asked if I would take some maternity pictures for her a few months ago- but then she went into labour a little earlier than expected, and I never got around to doing them. I felt really bad that she never got any, so to make it up to her, I asked if I could do some newborn pictures of Liam. This was also my way of thanking her for being such a great friend and helping me out when I had my last baby, by bringing meals and babysitting! She’s really been a life-saver. I have been SO crazy busy lately- but Liam’s already six weeks old, so I had to find a moment to do them ASAP. He was such a little angel. Calm and alert- and seriously CUTE!

Jr. Miss Photoshoot

Jr. Miss Photoshoot

A few weeks ago I had made the decision to give up doing photography for people outside of my family and close circle of friends (because I didn’t think I was at the level I needed to be, and I didn’t have the time to dedicate to get to the level I needed to be). Then a nice lady from my church came round with a meal for me & my family while my hubby was recovering from his eye surgery, and asked if I would please take pictures for the Jr. Miss programs & newspapers, and I could hardly say no after she was so nice.

Chicken Bryan

Last week my husband and I planned to have our own valentines day on the 13th, so that it didn’t interfere with our sons 3rd birthday on the 14th, and it actually worked out better- because we could line up a babysitter easier, and we knew the cinema and restaurants wouldn’t be as busy. We were going to see the VOW [just because my husband loves every movie with Channing Tatum in it] and go to dinner, but at last minute he got called in to do some work, and it never happened! [Things just never go according to plan these days] but it’s OK. because luckily I had a plan B.

Lightning McQueen Party & Cake

Lightning McQueen Party & Cake

My little guy turns three on Valentines day, so I thought I would throw him a little party this weekend. Last year his party was a LOT of work…. I invited a lot of people, put a dinner together for the kids with fun party food, and made a separate dinner for the adults. I decorated a ton, I made a three layer fondant cake, which kept me up t’ill 3 a.m. and it was just all so much WORK that I was actually pretty daunted to throw him another. Then I decided, I don’t need to do all of that. Cake and ice cream, and a few decorations would be just fine! [and then I didn't dare look at pinterest- knowing other mums out there would put me to shame!]
